Odette was having one hell of a day, chasing after students to get them to class, and to top it all off she had broken her arm from slipping on a wet floor and crashing into a wall. "Ow. ow" she muttered to herself as she made her way to the Hospital Wing.

Dylan had just been up to see the school nurse in the Hospital Wing. It wasn't a very serious matter, only that he was feeling tired and drained with a painful headache and so had gone up to get a Pepper-up Potion - he couldn't let fatigue and a simple headache get in the way of teaching. A lot more alert and appearing much less like an inferius than before, the professor began to make his way back down to his classroom in order to prepare for his third-year lesson; but he stopped abruptly as he came face to face with the Headmistress.
"My goodness, Odette... are-are you alright?" he asked, his forehead gently creasing in a small frown of concern as his eyes passed over the expression of pain on her face and noted the way she was apparently clutching her arm to herself in order to not let it risk further damage.

"I'm fine now. I just had a little run in with a wall." she said, not really explaining why she had ran into a wall. She smiled, then asked why he was coming out of the Hospital Wing, and she hoped everything was all right with him.

"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked again, just to make sure, and turned around so that he was facing in the same direction as Odette. Placing his hand lightly on her mid-back a little below her shoulder blades, he started to walk with her into the Hospital Wing - he wanted to make sure that she got there all right; thirty-one years of being diabetic had taught him never to leave someone alone until they got to the hospital and were being looked after by a nurse, unless the matter was trivial.
He gave a small smile as she asked after him, his hand dropping back to his side. "Oh, me? I-I just had a bit of a headache... got some Pepper-up Potion," he replied. "Now come on, let's get you to that nurse."

"I'll be fine." she said with a smile after nodding to his reply to her question. Her arm suddenly had a huge jolt of pain run up it, which caused her to stop in her tracks for a mintue, then carry on into the Hospital Wing.

He beamed. "I'm sure you will, but I'm allowed to make a fuss, aren't I?"
Watching her anxiously as she stopped, Dylan led her up to the Hospital Wing and went and got the nurse when they arrived. She was a little surprised to see him back so soon, but as soon as she realised that it was not him, but Odette who needed attention, she immediately bustled off to the Headmistress.
He sat on the edge of a vacant bed, waiting whilst the nurse tended to Odette's broken arm.

In a matter of minutes and Odette's arm was wrapped up, and she was told that she'd have to spend a few nights in the wing, drinking the horrible potion that would help her bones heal. Odette looked over at Dylan after the nurse went off for a second. "Oy! I think some students think it's funny to see their Headmistress get hurt."

Dylan looked up and his eyes flicked over to her. "What makes you think that?" he asked quietly, pushing his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose, "...because it certainly isn't funny."
'If anyone did find it funny, it would be Slytherins...' he thought, then pushed the thought right to the back of his mind, squashing it as much as possible. He was a teacher - he couldn't afford to be prejudiced.

"Oh, that's how I broke my arm. I was going after some students skipping class, and slide on a wet piece of floor, and now here I am in the Hospital Wing. And I say they think it's funny because I heard later right as I hit the wall."

Dylan gave a sigh. "People can be so cruel sometimes..." he mumbled quietly, looking down at the floor. 'And you should know...' he told himself. He had hated his childhood. He had been bullied about his glasses, and then about his Welsh accent when he moved schools - which had caused his stammer, because he had been so nervous about speaking, as they would only make fun of him when he did. At the age of nine, some of the kids a few years above him had stuffed him into a locker and left him in there to be discovered four hours later, terrified, white and shaking, by a very surprised teacher. This, of course, had been the cause of his claustraphobia. He was afraid of water, too, because of the bullies. Anything that could suffocate him, he was afraid of, because of them.
"Did-did you take any points off their houses," he inquired, "for not being in lessons?" He realised he had fallen silent for a few moments as he thought, and immediately lightened his expression, trying to make it seem as though nothing was bothering him.

"Yes. Slytherin again lost points." she said, and sighed. She was so digusted that students would treat a student, let alone a professor this way.

"Good. There's something wrong with that house," he said quietly, "everyone knows it. Maybe the school just shouldn't let Slytherins in..." he added with the slightest smile. That had not been a serious comment.

Odette smiled, and giggled lightly. "I wish, but that's not how the school was founded, so I must allow them."

"Pity," Dylan mumbled, hoping the sincerity didn't show in his voice. "Ah well. Can't blame a man for trying," he said, giving a small smile.

Odette smiled slightly,"So, how was classes today?"
