It was a Saturday and of course, Professor Jonathan Haven took the chance to get away from the school. He was in a little pub and dance called Dragon's Fire. His black hair was tied back in a small ponytail, and he wore nothing but black: black tousers, shirt, cloak, boots. Even his small mustache and gotaee were black. Since he was off in the darkest are of the pub nothing of him should but the pale glow of his skin. A strong brandy was sitting on the table in front of him in a wine glass, a half-full glass next to it.
Thinking about what was going to happen in his classes in the up coming week, Haven took another sip from his glass. His mind buzzing slightly from a little too much to drink. He sighed, finishing the last that was in the glass, and filled it up again. He looked around the place, and saw most of everyone dancing about. He frowned, happy was not him. He felt a bit queasy and almost hurled into his full glass. He looked away and his stomach settled. How can people be so cheerful? he thought.

It was Saturday evening and Eryn had taken the rare opertunity to get out of the castle and out on her own. It wasn’t that Eryn disliked being in the castle, on the contrary it was her home. But every once in a while she could really do with taking a break. The only problem was she had had no one to go out with, Eryn did have friends among the teachers at Hogwarts, but most of them had had to stay in their offices to mark homework or just simply needed to get sleep before the new week began. Eryn, however, preferred to relax by going out, socializing and perhaps drinking. Well not perhaps, but it she wouldn’t get drunk – too drunk anyway.
Walking down the alley leading to Dragon’s Fire, a nice pub which Eryn had been to before, Eryn wondered if she would see anyone she knew whilst there. She had been there before, but each different time she had gone there seemed to be different people there. Pushing open the door, a blast of warm air and music hit her and she smiled to herself, this was her kind of environment.
Eryn walked over to the bar and ordered a glass of red wine, handed over the correct change and surveyed the pub for people she recognised. She would have preferred to come here with a partner – or boyfriend, but she had recently broken up with her long time one and so she was a single girl looking for a good time from the good looking wizards in the pub. It shouldn’t be to hard, she decided to herself.
However, upon turning to one of the darker sides of the tavern she noticed some one she knew, sitting right in the darkness of the corner. It was of course Jonathan Haven the DADA teaching at Hogwarts. Eryn was unsure about how she felt of this man, he wasn’t the person she would have chosen for the job especially as he was Slytherin, but he might be nicer than he looked, or his reputation led to believe. So she picked up her glass of wine and made her way over to Jonathan, hoping he’d not mind some company.
“Jonathan?” she said, addressing him by his first name in the hope he wouldn’t mind, “Mind if I join you?” she asked smiling only so slightly.

Jonathan was staring down at the table in front of him, and hadn't noticed that Eryn had come in. When his name was called he looked up to see the Transfiguration professor, Eryn Chambers. He gave her a small smirk in greeting. "Eryn.. sit. Take a load off." He removed his feet which had been resting on the other seat across from him. Though he may not like happy things, he had a kind streak to himself. He wasn't all that bad, it wasn't another Lucius Malfoy I assure you.

"Eryn… sit. Take a load off."
Eryn smiled to him, and plonked herself down on the chair he had removed his legs from. She then sipped her wine and surveyed the people dancing. “Tough week,” she commented on the amount of work they’d had to do for the school. Eryn liked to had forgotten the hassle of getting back into the school routine.
After placing her glass down on the small table in front of her she said, “Not dancing?” she was teasing him, in fact she couldn’t see the professor dancing like the other witches and wizards in the place, not in a million years, but then again people could always surprise you. Eyrn however liked to dance; it was a kind of hobby she never had time for. “I would have thought you’d be the first one on the dance floor,” she grinned to show him she wasn’t serious, that was if he hadn’t taken it like that from the sarcasm in her voice. It wasn’t cruel though, just teasing.

He chuckled a bit, and sipped more of his Brandy. "I would be dancing, but there was no one to dance with until you came in." he said a bit flirtatiously. He hadn't answered her about the hard week he'd had. Actually, it wasn't that hard. He just didn't fancy the whole size of every single one of his classes. They were huge, even for just two houses, one year. It was more kids for him to learn to know, and get to know everyone's moves so if they were to try to prank someone, or do something along the lines of getting themselves into trouble, he'd know.
Jonathan sipped his brandy again, and sighed ever so lightly. "Would you like to dance Eryn?" he asked. He was actually getting tired of sitting in a seat, after all he felt like he did that for a living. Sure he could stand up during his classes, and sure he did patrol at night, but most of the time he was sitting. Sitting in a bloody chair, all the bloody time. He gave her a grin, trying to persuade her to say yes, but if she said no, then he wouldn't care. He'd sit and talk.... like he did all damn time.

"I would be dancing, but there was no one to dance with until you came in. Would you like to dance Eryn?"
Eryn smiled to herself and sipped her wine, she then replaced the glass on the table and replied, “Sure, but don’t out shine me… or else,” she added a playful wink and stood up. Following Jonathan onto the dance floor just as a new song started to be played. It was one Eryn recalled from her school days at Hogwarts and she commented, “God I haven’t danced to this one for years…” in all truth Eryn was a very good dancer, not that she got much practise, but she also looked almost the extreme opposite of a sophisticated Hogwarts teacher as she danced, her long black hair swaying graciously to the beat of the music.

Jonathan grinned and dance with her, he wasn't that bad at dancing. It's not like he had two left feet. He then finally recongized the song, and shook his head. It had been awhile since he had dance to the song as well. As the song faded, a new song came into play. It was a slower song, and he noticed couples and friends dancing together. They were dancing the waltz.

Eryn wandered what Jonathan would do when the slower song came on – whether he’d feel uncomfortable and leave the dance floor or not. But he seemed all right with it and so, tentatively, Eryn stepped forward and place a hand on his shoulder and then took his other hand in hers.
“I hope you know how to waltz Jon,” she commented, hoping he didn’t mind her shortening his name, “Cause I haven’t done it since I was 17.”
She waited until he placed his hand on her hip and then fell into step with the rest of the dancers, letting Jonathan lead her.

All those dance classes that his mother had made him do while in school had paid off. The two turned out to be the spotlight of the whole song, they were the only ones that seemed to know what they were doing. They were dancing as if they were floating on air, it was graceful and... romantic? Well, maybe romantic wasn't the word to use.

As the dance finished Eryn stepped back from Jonathan, “You’re quite the dancer Mr Haven,” she said smiling slightly. Another waltzy type song came on and Eryn didn’t really like the way this was going, “Shall we go back and have a drink?” she asked him, things were getting a little too intimate for her.
She lead him off the dance floor and back to where they’d been sitting, “What’re you having?” she asked, offering to go buy the drinks.

"Brandy." he replied, actually feeling a bit uncomfortable himself with what just happened while they were dancing. He, just like Eryn, had just gotten out of a relationship. His recent relationship had lasted five years, with a pure blood woman named Aurora Mcovich. Though he seemed like he was over it, he really wasn't all the way over her. He thought Aurora was going to be the one he spent the rest of his life with. Unfortunately, it didn't last.

"Brandy."
“Sure,” Eryn replied, smiling to him. She took her purse and walked over to the bar, ordered his brandy and a gin and tonic for herself she handed over the correct change to the barman and took the glasses over to table. She placed his brandy in front of him and sipped her drink as she sat down again.

Jonathan greeted and said a blunt "thank you" before taking the glass in his hand. He took a few gulps, then started to sip at the succulent nectar. He grinned at Eryn, then looked about the pub, looking at some of the others that were still dancing, and some that were wasted off in corners. Oh, how it was to young and immature he thought.

"Thank you"
Eryn smiled in reply and sipped her own G and T. It was nice to get out of the castle; in fact she’d already started to feel so much more relaxed. She started to get back into the music when a guy, around – what? – 19? 20? He could hardly have graduated from school, came up to her.
“Hey babe, you could do so much better than him, why don’t you come with me and I’ll show you how a real man treats a lady.”
Eryn couldn’t help but laugh, firstly she was much to old for this boy, secondly she wasn’t even with Jonathan in that way and thirdly… well the whole thing just seemed funny. Realising she was being rude she turned to the boy, trying to suppress a grin, “No… No thanks,” she said, then she lent closer to the boy, and said, just loud enough for Jonathan to hear, “And I know I could do better than him,” it wasn’t meant cruelly. She smiled at Jon and turned away from the boy, who, however, continued to stand there.

Jonathan looked from Eryn to the boy. "You got a leg problem?" He didn't understand why the hell the boy was still standing there. So of course Jonathan was letting his Slytherin side out.
