She grinned at him back and took his hand. "I'll show you..." she told him before they headed out onto the dance floor.

He kept his grin as he continued to the dance floor with her. Adam held her close, putting a hand on her hip, and holding the other one as there was a slow song on at the moment.

“So you should,” Cammie grinned, not intending any offence to Jake’s family, but pure blood prejudice was just so… idiotic in Cammie’s eyes, “Okay, back to me,” she cast her mind around for something to say, “Okay I like old music, there’s this great band my mum used to like called Nickelback, well anyway they rule,” she smiled and looked straight into Jacob’s eyes as a slower song came on, to determine whether or not she thought they should continue dancing she then added, “And I don’t like guys who mess me around.”
"Well, my father was a death eater. That's why I didn't want to be like him."
Amber took a hand off Woody’s shoulder and covered her mouth with it, “Oh god! I put my foot right in it didn’t I?” she blushed slightly, “I’m sorry.”
Jake had been sitting, almost wallowing in his own wretchedness, gazing at the door to the balcony that Chole had left out of. Should he go after her? Should he not? He kept asking himself the same questions but couldn’t decide upon an answer. However it was just then that a girl came rushing out of the door, in a beautiful white ball gown, a girl that Jake just knew he recognised. Standing up he decided to go over to her, biting back any resistance he felt he went to her side. “Chole? I…” he looked and her and then found he couldn’t keep her eye contact anymore.
Nathan had managed to climb all the way up North Tower and then onto the roof of the ballroom undetected, a small miracle as he’d knocked over a suite of armour on the way. He wasn’t usually this clumsy and had cursed, a lot. However, now only one obstacle stood between him and his objective – and that was the solid roof of the ballroom. He decided a good spell, which hit the roof at a weak point would work good enough for him.

"I not like those guys.." Jacob said, and continued to dace with Cammie as he held one of her hands, and placed his other hand on her hip.
Woody laughed,"It's all right, you didn't know."
Chole, who hadn't noticed anyone coming over to her, looked at Jake. "Jake..." she said softly. She needed to go, but she didn't feel like going to this ridiculous debutant ball. And what disgusted her most what her escort.. Valerian Amkeira. She'd pay millions to see his death. Then again, she knew that if he messed up, whatever evil he supported would kill him.
Meg Vaun, who was still outside of the ball room, snuck in. With relief she made her way over to the punch table, she was happy that no one noticed she didn't have a date or didn't come in with a friend.

Andy had decided that the ball was not up to much. That might have been that most of her friends were dancing with their dates, but she wasn't jealous - she was just fed up that she had no one to talk to save Kendall. Taking another sip of butterbeer, she let her eyes pass over the dance floor, watching everyone, flicking from one person to the next, occasionally pausing on the people she recognised underneath their costumes. It seemed Jake Higgs was having a little girl trouble.

Cammie’s grin grew slightly wider, “Right answer,” she replied.
"It's all right, you didn't know."
“I should’ve…” she shook her head and replaced her hand, “Well if it’s any consolation I don’t think you’ll be anything like him.”
Nathan directed his wand at the roof, he then rethought, he couldn’t apparate with this girl – he couldn’t apparate at all at Hogwarts. An idea coming to him he put a hand in his pocket, pulled out a pencil and murmured “Portus,” and the pencil was turned into a portkey, which took you direct to Nathan’s chosen destination. Smiling slightly to himself he planned out his next two minutes in his head. He thought through it all again and then pointed his wand at the roof, and yelled, “Reducto!”
The roof caved in on its self, a large chunk falling straight to the floor of the ballroom, next to what had previously been a food table but was now a pile of rumble on the floor. Nathan swiftly dropped down after it, sending a spell to the floor, which cushioned his landing. He then looked around for his target, not seeing the girl he felt a slight sense of panic, in his mind the Potter girl had always been there, visable to him. He decided to do what seemed next best in his mind. Through the dust he made his way quickly over to the nearest student, pointing his wand at the girl-in-the-playboy-bunny-outfit’s neck he then spoke loudly, “Put your wand down Headmistress, or mine might slip,” he prodded the girl sharply in the neck with his wand, his other arm around her stomach, preventing Meg Vaun from running, “Now, where is the Potter girl?”

Meg froze,"I'm not the headmistress.. and I don't know who you're talkin' about." Of course, Meg was lying. Andrea was a good friend of hers, and she wasn't about to let some creep harm her.
As the roof fell, Chole looked up, and ran back outside, on to the balcony. But the roof falling made the balcony unstable as well as the whole ballroom. The roof collison had left a small hole in the floor, just near the balcony. The balcony began to tip to its right, crumbling as it went. The next thing Chole knew she was hanging from the edge of the, screaming.
Kendall who was near the table with Andy when the roof fell ended up in the small hole that now replaced the antique wood. As if thinking like twins Jacob Snape and Woody Schwartz, having noticed the rood collapsing, grabbed hold of their girls and moved out of the way. Headmistress Odette's eyes widened as she ran over to help those in need of getting to the hospital wing or something. She then looked around to see who or what had caused the roof to come into the school, not noticing that the balcony was going as well.

Nathan just replied, “Shut up,” to Meg, a voice in his head screaming you fucked up!. Ignoring it Nathan pushed Meg out into the middle of the ballroom, “Look luv, I don’t have time for your bloody ‘tact’,” he said, adding the last comment with a patronizing note in his voice. “If your such a smart arse tell me where the Headmistress is,” he growled in her ear, just loud enough for the girl to hear, he then nudged her in the back, making her move slightly more into the cornor of the room. Nathan had already clocked the teachers standing together, and wanted to be in the least vulnerable point.
When some of the confusion died down a little he called out to the room, “Headmistress White, if you want this girl to be alive for the next hour then you’d better bloody answer me, where the fuck is Andrea Potter?”
In the whole confusion of the attack Jake had lost sight of Chole, there was a lot of noise around him, but then he heard her, screaming for help outside. Sprinting out after Chol he saw the balcony had almost completely broken off the school and Chole was hanging off the end. Throwing himself to the floor and sliding over to where Chole was hanging he extended a hand towards her, however she was quite some distance away and it would definitely be a very slim chance than she’d be able to reach him.
Amber, who wouldn’t have screamed even in the direst of circumstance swallowed back a slight yelp and stepped back with Woody, letting him protectively move her out of the way of any debris. She looked up at him slightly scared.
Cammie, who had been dancing with Jacob nearer to where the roof had fallen in had gasped slightly hoarsely, a piece of roof had been falling directly for the couple and would have killed them if Jacob hadn’t moved them out of the way. Swallowing hard she moved closer to his chest when they were safely out of the way and observed the scene in the middle of the room. Nearly everybody had been talking or making noise, panicked, but once the man started talking a hush had fallen over the room.

Odette unbruptley stopped, and looked to who was calling out to her. She drew her wand, ready to fight for her students. "Andrea's not here.." Odette began, being as brave as she could possibly be. She was a Hufflepuff, so really that wasn't much.
Chole screamed again, then noticed Jake. "Jake!" she shouted, and went to reach his hand. Chole thought the hell with the mask, and threw it off to the ground. Chole ended up loosing a glass slipper, and tried to grab Jake's hand again. SHIT! she thought. She reached again, almost grasping hold of his hand. "Damnit!" she cursed. Finally she was able to grab his hand, she screamed as she slid a bit more off where she was. "Shit! Jake, don't let me go!"
Jacob held Cammie close, as did Woody with Amber.

Giving a yell, Andy had dived underneath the drinks table, as had several others, as the roof came crashing to the floor. She heard several chunks of rubble hit the table above her, smashing glasses and bottles and thudding heavily on the wood. A stream of bright red punch was dripping off the edge, in front of her eyes, looking ominously like blood. Sure that nothing more was going to drop from the ceiling, she emerged carefully, looking anxiously around as a deathly hush fell around the room. A man's voice that was strange to her spoke her name clearly as he stood holding his wand to Meg's neck, and she froze, watching as the Headmistress spoke up for her and praying that no one got hurt because of her. Swallowing, she gripped her wand tightly, her hand in her pocket.
She had two choices... go with the man, or stay and hope not to be discovered. If she went with him - Lord knew what he would do to her, but at least no one else would be hurt; she seemed to be all the man wanted. If she said nothing and acted like everyone else - there was still the chance that she would be found, and that there would probably be a fight, with likely many casualties; she couldn't let that happen on her account. That left her with only one choice.
Dylan drew his own wand, stepping forwards so that he was at Odette's side - a Hufflepuff loyal as ever. If it came to it, he was not going to let her fight alone.
Heart beating twice its normal rate, Andy took off the top part of her costume, revealing her face and the black T-shirt she had worn underneath her fancy-dress. "I... I'm here," she said, loud enough to be heard by the man, hoping that maybe now he would release Meg.

Odette looked at Dylan quickly, then back to the intruder that dare step a toe in her beloved school. She suddenly felt her heart stop as she heard Andrea Potter say that she was there. Odette, knowing about what death eaters and what not tried to do to Andy's father, was very concerned no matter what. She was in fear of Meg and Andy's lives. Odette went over to Andrea,"Andy, no. Do you know what you're doing, hun?" Odette then looked back at Nathan who still held Meg hostage, you could say, against her will. "Let the child go." Odette said, indicating Meg.

Nathan rolled his eyes and jabbed his wand harder into the girl’s neck. “I don’t think you’re in any position to bargain with me,” he said a small sarcastic smile darkening his features, “So listen up Headmistress, I make the demands and you comply – that’s how the whole,” he nodded his head from side to side as he couldn’t gesture with his hands, “thing works… Okay? Now put your wand on the floor, and get Chuckles here to do the same,” he said, looking at Dylan. He then looked back at Andrea Potter, still keeping a half eye on the teachers, “Now Miss Potter, if you’d step over here?”
Jake had had to slide onto the unstable balcony to be able to reach Chole, and in doing so had put himself in danger as well.
"Shit! Jake, don't let me go!"
“Not gonna happen,” he said, swinging his other hand down to grasp hers more firmly. “Hang on, everything’s gonna be alright.” However, Jake knew everything was not going to be alright, as the balcony started to crumble even more, the side of the balcony Chole was on, falling further away from Jake.

Chole looked over to her side, seeing a ledge that was just in her foot reach. "Jake, help me swing over there."
Odette stepped back a little, and nodded, placing her wand down. She made a movement that told Dylan to place his wand down as well. They didn't need a student to get hurt. Dear Merlin, help us... she thought.

Chuckles? thought Dylan, a little puzzled, but complied and set down his wand; he didn't need to be told twice. His eyes were on Meg, praying that Nathan wouldn't hurt her. He swallowed. "Y-you'll be alright," he said reassuringly, wishing that he knew it for certain.
"Andy, no. Do you know what you're doing, hun?"
She nodded, a little paler than usual, but determined nonetheless. "Yes, Professor," she said quietly, the hand in her pocket grasping her wand so tightly her hand was shaking. She did as Nathan said, trying not to let it show that she was frightened - she would not give him that satisfaction - and moved slowly towards him. "Let Meg go," she said firmly, her voice trembling slightly.
