Dylan bit his lip, then loosened his arms so that he could take half a step back and look down at her. "L-Look... er... Why don't we go indoors and - and have a cup of coffee, or something," he suggested, deciding that the best way to stop her from being depressed would be to get her away from the source.

She nodded, and gave a small smile. Only Dylan and Hayley were there for Odette now, and Odette couldn't ask for more from Dylan.
((hmm.. did that make sense to you? cause i'm not really sure if it does make sense...))

((I think it does...))
Dylan returned her smile with the warmest one he could muster, and offered his arm to her. "Come on, then... let's find a café."
Taking it that Odette didn't mind whether it was muggle or wizarding, he led her to the nearest café he knew of, just down the road from a Starbucks. As could have been predicted, with the café monstrosity a few buildings away, this one was almost empty, and he felt that the atmosphere was more suited to her current situation, rather than the hustle and bustle of a packed Starbucks.

((okie, as long as you think it does, then it doesn't matter if I do or don't think it does.. LOL!))
It didn't matter to her where the went as she took his arm. After seeing how busy the Starbucks was however, she didn't want to go there. Too many people would see that she had been crying, and honestly that was a little embarrassing to her.

He ordered himself a latte, then looked over at Odette for her to order whatever she wanted. He would pay for it.

She just wanted a nice cup of pure black coffee, strong.

They sat down at a table, and Dylan stirred a couple of spoonfuls of sugar into his coffee, glancing up at Odette.
"Aside from... w-well, your father... you are okay, aren't you?" he asked.

Odette took a sip from her mug that lay before her, then set it back down. She looked up at him,"Yes. I'm fine." Then she added randomly,"I'm going to be an aunt."

About to take a sip of coffee, Dylan blinked in surprise at her comment and set down the mug. "You are? That's great," he smiled, pushing his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose. "So who...?" he trailed off, meaning that he wanted to know who the couple was that were having the baby.

"It's not a who yet, but my sister is having a baby. Professor Haven's baby."

"Well... congratulations to her," he smiled, and took a sip of coffee.

Odette smiled, and said a soft thank you before she took another sip of her coffee.

"I've got a tonne of marking to do when I get back," he smiled with a small sigh. He wasn't trying to ignore the fact that Odette's father had died, only trying to bring her mind away from it. The thing was, that work probably wasn't the most desirable thing to talk about, but he couldn't think of anything else.

"If you need help, I'll be more than glad to offer my services." she told him. She knew her father was dead, and it was probably best if she didn't think about it.

Dylan's cheeks coloured slightly. "Oh... n-no, I couldn't ask you to do that," he smiled sheepishly. "After all... it-it's my job."
