He realized she was really scared, and lay down next to her, placing his head over hers. It was a male thing.

She snuggled against him, turning her head and buried it under his. She was so frightened! She whimpered again, but she finally began to settled down with him next to her like that.

He let her calm down a bit then asked,"That man must've scared you to death, eh?"

She nodded a bit, murmuring something that was muffled by his fur. She snuggled close again, sighing. Finally she pulled her head away. "Thank you," she said quietly.

Cal looked at her with his yellow cat eyes and he grinned a kittie grin. "My pleasure."

She rubbed her head under his chin. "I think I feel a connection to you. Do you feel one with me?" Without him knowing who she was, she felt comfortable telling him.

He grinned as she rubbed her head under his chin, and had to think a mintue before answering her question. "I think I do. I mean, I couldn't stop thinking about you after our encounter yesterday. I was wondering if we'd ever see one another again."

She smiled slightly and laid her head on his paws. "I'm kinda tired...... what about you?" She felt so comfortable that she didn't want to move at all.

"I feel rather energetic really." he replied.

She gave a small pout. "So I don't suppose you'd like to cat-cuddle like this? I was rather enjoying it."

He sighed of relief as she didn't get what he meant by energetic, and he grinned. "I'm rather enjoying it myself, and I'd rather do this." Cal began to pur a little.

She purred back to him, cuddling close to him and laying her head under his. She had somewhat known what he meant, but she didn't want to address that. Addressing that meant they would have to reveal their human selves to the other. She couldn't risk that. Not yet.

He continued to pur, and laid there in contentment. Cal could just lay there like that all day.

Soon enough, though, the peaceful area drew visitors. A child had been running around his parents when he caught sight of the two cats. He screamed, his voice loud and high, high enough to cause some pain.
She jerked away from him, the shock making her flicker to her human self and back. Once more a cheetah, she leapt up and raced off. I can't let him find out who I am. No one loves a Riddle. No one! I can't let him find out!
When her energy had been expended, she curled up in a small cave-dent, and as she slept transformed into her human self.
There, laying curled in the position used by almost all felines during rest, was Riyan Raven Riddle in all her glory. Around her neck was a black choker with a cheetah claw tied to it. She wore a red halter top that fastened behind her neck, and black slacks finished the deal. Study black stylish hiking boots worked with the whole outfit. Her hair, braided and curled up in a bun, had loosened two strands to frame her face, and thus she slept, in ignorant bliss, dead to the world.

Cal watched her leave, then went after the visitors of the bank, which was the wrong thing to do. The father of the small child pulled out a rifle, and shot Cal right in the shoulder. Cal fell over for a second, but made his way back up into the tree, changing into his human form. From there he fell from the tree, weak from loosing too much blood, and lay on the ground in agony.
