The sound of the rifle shocked her awake, and the smell of blood woke her cheetah senses. Nose to the ground, she transformed and made her way over to the tree. There she saw Cal, immediately recognizing him. However, she now had a problem.
She couldn't help him as a cheetah, for they were not the best climbers. Nor could she go for help in cheetah form. She would have to transform back into a human to help in any way, so that is what she did.
She cut his shirt away with her claws first, then used those strips bandage his shoulder. Pressing down, she got the bleeding to stop, and then descended to find medicine. Once back in the tree, she ground medicinal herbs between stones to make a poultice, too focused on her work to watch her patient beyond making sure he didn't fall out of the tree.

Cal vision was blurry and he kept seeing things. Or so he thought. Like a beautiful girl, helping him. "Wow! You're so beautiful. What is your name?"

She didn't look up at him for a moment, making sure the poultice was ground completely before she went to the next step. "I'll be right back," she said softly, leaping out of the tree and landing safely on the ground. There she wet the mixture and climbed back up.
"This may sting," she said quietly, taking the make-shift bandage off. First she cleansed the wound with water, then applied the stick mixture to the outside of the wound. Putting the bandage back on, she pressed for a moment before sitting back. "That should work for now."
She didn't want to answer his question. She didn't want him to know. If he had eyes, he would recognize her choker was in the same spot as the black ring that always followed her in either form. She didn't want him to, though. She wasn't ready for this Gryffindor to realize he'd "felt a connection" with a Slytherin, and yet not just any Slytherin, but a Riddle.

Cal bent his head back in agony as what she said was right, it did sting. After the pain subsized, Cal looked back at her, a hand moved to her face, touching her cheek lightly. He grinned, his gaze going to the choker, but he thought nothing of it. "Thank you." he said softly.

She bent her head and looked away. "We need to get you on the ground." She looked around and made sure no one was there, then looped one of his arms around her shoulders and slowly helped him down the tree.
Once on the ground, she helped him walk intervals of area until they reached the cave she had transformed in earlier. As it was also close to water and stocked with herbs she used at times, it was a good place to wait until his shoulder healed enough.
I wish I could use magic here, she thought idly. While she had a healing talent, it would only start more questions. Sighing, she stroked the cheetah's claw as she searched for the bandages hidden somewhere in the small area. She would only feel better when that wound was properly dressed. That is, at least, what she told herself.

Cal just sat or stood around, totally out of it.

Once she had found the actual bandages, she came back over to him. Silently she changed them, throwing the bloody makeshift bandage in the rag pile next to the entrance.
Once the bandage was on properly, she helped him stand and put some sort of herbal soap and a cloth in his hand. "We're in a sheltered cove. Go out and wash, and try to wash your shirt a bit too. I have extra clothes if you need them. Just don't get the bandage to wet and you'll be fine."
After she had told him this, she went over to the rag pile and sat beside it, using a needle and thread to hem some of the old rags into bandages or new clothes, including a pair of breeches and a shirt beside her. She paid little attention to him, clearly expecting him to do as she had said.

Cal nodded and went to do as she said, and soon arrived back, clean as a whistle.

When he came back, she was glad to see he had kept his pants with him. Standing, Riyan picked up a shirt and gave it to him. "It should fit." Taking the a dress from nearby, she stood and went out to the cove, cleansing herself of the blood from his wound. She was glad the soap was made from pure earthern materials, for there was a lot of it going into the water.
When she came back, she wore a light blue dress that reached just under her knees, and her other outfit was clean. The latter she hung in a small "closet" nearby, where it would dry and be there when she required a new outfit. To match her dress, she also pulled out a pair of sandals particularly comfortable in this heat.
"We won't move you until that poultice takes hold." She sat down in a chair and drew a brush through her hair, which seemed much longer once out of her usual style. "You might as well get comfy."

Cal had watched her, not meaning to, and turned away from her when she walked back. He nodded to her statement about him becoming comfy, and took a seat on the ground.

Finally she knew the poultice was set in place. She stood and went over, offering a hand to help him up. "We need to get you back where you belong." Once he was up, she re-donned her hiking boots, getting a long hiking stick on her way out.
Silently she led him through hidden trails in the Forest, she led him directly to the outside of Hogwarts. "You should check with the nurse. I don't know if that will heal right."

Cal nodded and turned to her. "Thank you for everything you've done. " He smiled, and took hold of her hand. "I hope we'll see each other again soon." He had no idea why he said this, he had feelings for the cheetah. Though he thought it was odd now since the cheetah was probably just a mere animal and not an anigmus. However, he felt a connection with this lovely girl.

She shook her head again. "Crazy Gryffindor," she remarked, though without the usual sense of evil or manipulation behind it that Slytherins had. "You truly don't know who I am, do you? Then I shall enlighten you. I am Riyan Raven Riddle, and considered to be one of your biggest enemies, though not by myself." She shook her head with a sigh. "I advise you to forget this ever happened."
She backed up, touched the claw around her neck, and transformed. As she turned with a last look at him, one could almost swear that the black lines underneath her eyes grew broader as new tears dripped down them, one by one. She raced into the Forest, leaving behind perhaps the one person who could have been her friend.
The next day She sat by the River bank once more, outside her cave. The sunlight lit her hair as she pulled her needle through a stack of cloth, creating a new shirt. By now she had brought out a new outfit, a black dress that was enhanced to trap sunlight-heat so it wouldn't cool off immediately when she returned to the cave.
She thought back to the day before with a blank face. She had used up her tears long before this. Hopefully I won't see him often. The pain will disappear. She sighed, staring motionless into the River.

That day Cal did not come to the river bank. After the night before, he was a little weary on going back, he knew she'd be there. He sat alone in his dorm, lying on his back on top of his bed. His gaze was to the ceiling, he sighed. What's wrong with me? I thought she felt the same for me as I do for her... After all... she was the cheetah. he thought.

Riyan found herself wishing she could be near him, to explain her actions. Slowly she nodded off, laying on the bank with the rags held tightly in her hands.
Directly in front of Cal, surrounded by a mist that held a soft scent of lavender and vanilla, was a large cheetah, bigger even than Riyan had been in her animagus form. The huge animal had different markings as well, along with an air that said it was completely at home in a place it probably shouldn't be.
Tail flicking, the cheetah made its way over to Cal. You are a foolish human. While she sounded human-like in his head, there was no indication that she was making a sound as she walked. I am Meera, the spirit of the cheetah within Riyan. You are the human she has feelings for, are you not?
It soon became apparent that no one but Cal could see the cheetah. ((Hope you don't mind, and if you do, then just modify the post until before this short paragraph)) In fact, it also became apparent that Cal had drifted off to sleep, but could conciously see and talk to the cheetah without anyone hearing (or seeing) a thing. This, of course, had been the cheetah's purpose of appearing in this manner anyway, but she wouldn't tell that to Cal.
