((Even though we still have the Halloween Ball going, I'd like to go ahead and get this one started. Action is OK, but no destroying the room and what not. Christmas is supposed to be for family, love, and peace, etc. LOL! Happy Posting!)) The prior ball Hogwarts has was a calamity. A henchman of the ex-dark lord ruptured the roof of the ballroom, causing some to become wounded. Upon ruining the school's ballroom, this deplorable person had kidnapped two of the Gryffindor house. However, both were now safe back at the school, free of wickedness. Christmas had come, but Headmistress White was very skeptical on having a ball or any type of celebration, due to the fact that she feared another incident, like the one at the Halloween Ball would happen again. Alas, she figured that most, including death eaters, would be home with their families. She need not worry about something corrupt. The only difference this time was that instead of being in the dance hall, the ball would be held in the Great Hall. Upon entering the colossal room you see the ceiling is made to look like snow is falling during a cold winter's night. All four house tables are draped with a white tablecloth, crimson and emerald candles along with some holly decorated the tabled, evenly spread out, and some multi-colored Christmas lights trimmed the bases of seats. In the middle of the room stood the school's twenty-foot Christmas tree which was embellished with white lights and gold tinsel. Shining luminously, a golden star glittered at the peak of the tree. Where the professors would normally sit was a huge black stage, equipment for the bands that were going to play already set up. Many would think that there was no space to have a ball in the Great Hall, however, before school had started the headmistress had ordered to have remodeling done. Now there was this massive ballroom sized area between where the tree and house tables were. The lights in the ceiling had been dimmed to give the place a sense of elegance and... romance? It was just a few minutes before the ball was to officially begin, and only a few of the students had shown up. They were: Jacob Snape, Lance Potter, Carlynne Aames, Contessa Riddle, and Chole Goyle. Along with the students were a few of the professors: Professor Lu, Professor Heu, Headmistress White, and Professor Rowland. To just go over outfits: Jacob was wearing a simple pair of blue jeans and a nice black collared shirt. Lance wore a tuxedo, a rose pinned where the pocket was on the jacket. Carlynne wore a slinky red dress that was strapless. Contessa, though not really interested in being there, wore a backless black dress that swept to the floor. Chole wore a simple frilly short-sleeved sage dress that came to her knees. The professors that had come wore their best evening wear.

Andy was not planning on going to the Christmas Ball. She didn't care if it was supposed to be a season of forgiving or whatever... she didn't want to go. The last ball had turned out to be a disaster - and it wasn't as if she wanted a repeat. Her father had tried to persuade her to go; he'd even bought her a dress that was charmed to fit its owner perfectly, no matter their size, but it was still at the bottom of her trunk. She was surprised that Harry had chosen to take this stance on the matter, but he had gone off on a huge, fatherly rant about how the Ministry was doing everything it could, and that surveillance on the castle had tightened greatly. He only wanted her to have fun. Andy's view was that she wasn't going to have fun even if she did decide to go. No one had even tried to invite her - they were probably scared they might get kidnapped if they stayed too close to her for too long. So she was sitting on her four-poster bed in her dormitory, feeling lonely.
Salvador had spent the last four hours getting ready for the ball. It was a social occasion, and - of course - he needed to look respectable; more so than usual. Dressed in a black tailcoat and trousers, with a high-collared shirt, and a silvery-green waistcoat, with an emerald green cravat at his throat. He looked immaculate. But he still wasn't happy with it. He narrowed his eyes at himself in the mirror, tucking his cane - which had his wand concealed inside it - under his arm. Deciding that it was better than nothing, he gave an irritable sigh and made his way down to the great hall. Upon arriving, he found Contessa and gave her a small smirk in greeting, bowing politely, taking her hand and kissing it. The hand that had been behind his back when he had bowed, he now brought forward, giving her a single, black rose - so much more beautiful than a red one.

Lance Potter, waiting to see if his sister would show up, waited at the enterance door. He had agreed mentally with himself that if she was to show up he'd keep a good eye on her. Just to help out the Ministry and his father. Plus, she was his baby sister, he didn't want a repeat of the last time neither.
Contessa smiled flirtatiously, taking the rose. She muttered a soft "thank you." She looked at the rose, and she smirked mentally at how everything was turning out so far in life. Still holding the rose, she looked back up at Salvador.

"You look absolutely ravishing in that dress, I must say," Salvador complimented her smoothly, still wearing the smirk.
In a sudden burst of anger, Andy kicked her trunk, hard, then curled up on her bed, clutching her foot and swearing loudly in pain, feeling her eyes prickle. Her frustration at her current situation had suddenly become overwhelming, and she couldn't cope.

Lance drew bored of waiting for Andy to show up so went off to take a seat at the Gryffindor table. He watched as some began to dance. This was pathetic.
Contessa smiled as a thank you instead of voicing one,"And you look as dashing as always."

Bianka was alone in her dorm since everyone else had gone to the Yule Ball. She wasn't sure if she would go or not, after all it's not like anyone had asked her or anything. Part of her had been hoping that Geof Weasley would ask her. But he hadn't and so here she was sitting on her bed.
Bianka sighed and leaned back against her pillows, arms behind her head. For a moment she just stared up at the canopy of her four-poster bed. Maybe she should go to the ball anyway. That would show Geof. At least, she hoped it would. She didn't want him, or anyone else, that she was just going to sit around waiting for him to ask her to the ball.
Bianka stood up quickly. Her decision had been made. She would go to the ball with or without Geof Weasley. She opened the trunk at the foot of her bed looking for the ball gown her grandmother had gotten for her. It was a beautiful burgandy gown that reached almost to her ankles. It was covered in sequins and sparkled brilliantly in the light.
Quickly, Bianka changed into it and pulled her good shoes out from under her bed. She slipped them on and walked over to her dressing table. She had a pair of ruby earings that had once belonged to her mother. She put them on and took a quick look at herself. The earings went perfectly with her dress.
Now, what to do with her hair? Bianka decided she would wear it up. Once she was ready she headed down to the Great Hall where the ball had already begun. She walked in and glanced around the room looking for Geof. She didn't see him and let out a deep breath she hadn't realized she was holding. She walked over to join a small group of her friends.

Jake hadn’t been sure whether he wanted to attend the Christmas ball or not. Of course, he and Chole were getting on better these days, but after all that had happened at the Halloween ball Jake was dubious about going to this one. However, he had made up his mind and so was standing, ready to go into the Great Hall, he wasn’t very dressed up, in fact he was only wearing some jeans, a black shirt, trainers and a strap bracelet around his wrist. As the doors to the hall opened he headed straight for the Slytherin table and sat down, waiting for the festivities to begin.
Cammie was excited about the Christmas ball; she’d been looking forward to it for a long while, even though she hadn’t a date. After the Halloween ball they’d all been rushed back to their dormitories and so she’d never had a chance to see Jacob Snape’s face, meaning she could only recognise him by voice. It was sad really, she’d enjoyed his company and he was also a very good dancer. However, she’d decided if she were never going to see him she might as well start thinking about other guys- however, she’d be on the look out for Mr Snape among the Slytherins. She’d already decided he couldn’t be that good looking, guys who were sweet and kind and as funny as Jacob never were that good looking. It was disappointing really. So Cammie, dressed in a deep blue, cut off on one shoulder dress, swept into the hall, oblivious to the fact that she’d just passed the one guy she’d been looking for. Jacob Snape.
Dawn had been through a whole load of ‘should I, shouldn’t I’ thoughts about the Christmas ball, the Halloween one had been interesting and you never knew, this occasion might end up being something more than a boring dance. She didn’t wait around at the entrance, and instead headed straight for the Gryffindor table. She slumped down opposite, without meaning to be, Lance Potter. She hadn’t bothered to dress up, and when she realised that Lance might be waiting for someone, wearing his tuxedo and all she looked up at him, “Sorry… were you waiting for some one?”
Amber was looking forward to the Christmas ball, but god it was taking her forever to get ready. Never before had she known herself to spend this long on choosing what to wear and what not. She was the last one out of her dormitory, however and she was uneasily clacking her way down the stairs to the common room in a pair of high heels she heard a loud thump from the 5th year girl’s room. Frowning slightly she knocked on the door, “Hello?” she said, before quickly opening the door to find Andy Potter lying on her bed, looking upset. “Andy?” she awkwardly walked over to her bed, and sat down on the corner, “You alright mate?”
Eryn Chambers, although she was lacking a date, looked as stunning as ever in a deep purple dress. She’d spent a while choosing her outfit, and had decided upon the one she was wearing because it wasn’t too sluttish but it wasn’t prudish either. She made her way to the teacher’s table and sat down in her alleged place, which was next to Rei Heu’s place. Eryn liked Rei, in fact they were good friends and Eryn was looking forward to talking to her over dinner. Of course Eryn liked the rest of the teaching staff, but hoped Shang Lu could spare his wife for a while during the ball.

Andy looked up as the door opened, and let go of her foot, which was now throbbing in pain, to see Amber come in, looking absolutely stunning, if a little unsteady in a pair of heels.
"I'm fine," she replied to her question, sounding as though she had a sudden cold, but giving a smile nonetheless. A few seconds later, however, her eyes filled with tears and she shook her head, changing her answer to a small "...No...".
Salvador's smirk widened and he gave a small bow of his head to show that he acknowledged her compliment. Most people appeared to be sitting down at their corresponding House tables, though some were dancing. "Would you care to dance, or sit?" he inquired

Chole had been standing over near the stage, waiting for the first band to come out. She hadn't noticed Jake yet, as she straightened her green dress a little. She looked up, and finally took notice to him. She smiled, and walked over. "Hey stranger..." she said softly.
Lance looked at Dawn with a small smile. "My sister. Andy Potter. I'm supposed to keep an eye on her if she comes in."
Jacob right off the bat acknowledged Cammie, and with a smirk went over to her. "Cammie...?" he said.
Rei after getting done laughing a joke that Headmistress White had made, turned to look at Eryn with a wide smile. "Konichiwa(sp?), Eryn."
Contessa smirked, and took hold of one of Salvador's hands. "Dancing would be nice." she replied to his question as the first band came on stage and began to play a slow song.

Amber’s eyebrows knitted together in a large sympathetic frown. Instinctavely moving up the bed towards Andy, and sweeping her arms around her friend’s shoulder she said, “Cheer up, it’s going to be okay…” she rubbed Andy’s shoulder with her hand.
Jake looked up at Chole, who was looking stunning as ever and decided he felt a little out of place in his jeans and shirt. However he grinned back to her and stood up, and in the style of the other couples around them he bowed to her and said half joking, half serious, “Would the lady care to dance?” he held out his hand for hers.
Cammie was trying to work out by different guy’s height and poise if they were Jacob, to no avail, when she heard some one call her name. Of course she instantly recognised Jacob and grinned to him as he came over, “My knight in shinning armour,” she joked, referring to his Halloween costume.
“Hey Rei, nice dress,” she complimented her, “How’re things?”
Dawn smiled back to Lance, “She not coming tonight then? I heard she had a pretty hard time of it at the Halloween dance… I really don’t blame her for not wanting to come,” Lance was looking unhappy, so Dawn added, “I’m sure she’ll show when the times is right.”

Chole laughed lightly,"I'd be delighted." she placed her hand in his.
Jacob smirked,"Oh the torture that outfit put me threw. So how have you been, milady?"
"Thanks Eryn. I love yours as well." Rei said with a smile. "So how are things?"
Lance frowned, memories of the Halloween Ball coming back to haunt him. "I know, and maybe you're right. I'll just have fun until then. Not that I won't have fun afterwards."

(Haha, no worries!)
Jake grinned to Chol, and led her onto the dance floor, at the moment a waltz was playing, but there was no doubt things would hot up in that department when the bands came on stage. Once they had started to dance Jake said, “You look beautiful tonight.”
Cammie grinned, she was slightly elated over the fact that Jacob was not only charming and well spoken but he was hot as well. It was great, but she’d already decided he must have a catch of some kind, nobody was ever this perfect. However she put her thoughts to one side and said, “It still looked good though.” She ran her hands down the skirt of her dress to smooth it and then said, slightly nervous on anticipating the answer, “So… do you have a date?”
Eryn nodded her head, “So-so… busy as ever and what not,” she then held up her hand, her index and middle fingers crossed, “Here’s hoping everything goes smoothly tonight.”
Dawn smiled back to Lance, “Good for you,” she then poured herself some pumpkin juice, “You want some?” she offered.

Chole smiled,"Thank you." A blush beginning to formal at her cheeks. "And do I have to go into detail about how dashing you look yourself?"
"Actually, I don't have a date. I didn't want to bring one just in case I ran into you again. We didn't really get time to spend together at the last ball." Jacob expalined.
"Oh yeah. You were telling me about what happened at the last festivity. I'm hoping nothing happens as well. It's mine as well as Shang's first Christmas away from our home country of China." Shang looked past his wife to Eyrn, and nodded in agreement with Rei.
Lance grinned the same cute grin his father grinned,"Sure, thanks."

Andy hated crying in front of people, but she couldn't stop herself, and let out a huge sob, clinging to Amber. It was the first time she'd cried since the Halloween Ball; she had to let it out sometime.
Salvador, still wearing his smirk, placed his other hand on Contessa's waist and moved a little closer to her. He enjoyed the arts, dancing being one of them.

She interlaced their fingers with the one hand, rested her free hand on his shoulder. She as well always enjoyed the arts, just never had someone to enjoy it with so she acted like she didn't enjoy them. Her smirked turned into a small grin as he moved closer to her.
