Giving a low, threatening growl, Yamir bared his teeth as one of the Death Eaters turned to face him, then dived on top of him, tackling him to the ground and biting into his wand hand with a satisfying crunch as he pinned him down with his paws. The wand, as well as the man's hand, splintered, crushed in his jaws, and a powerful, angry swipe from one of Yamir's paws tore off the Death Eater's bottom jaw, blood spattering everywhere. A jinx powered its way into him, throwing him off the corpse he had just created, and Yamir rolled over, snarling at its caster and running at full pelt into him, knocking the wand out of his hand and goring his throat with his teeth.

Mariah watched with satisfaction in her amber eyes. Finally, after an hour of carnage, the humans had learned their lesson, and the one who had been in the library was laying with the other corpses.
It was only then that members of the pack noticed Yamir. A few came over, but most of them stayed away, tails between their legs and crouching whenever he came near.
Mariah, however, had gone off into the shadow, tending to her numerous wounds and listening to the news she had missed in her days of studying. The wolves knew where to find her. They would direct anyone wishful of her presence there.

Yamir stood still, in the centre of a group of some of the pack. He was wary of them, fully aware that the alpha male could see him as a threat and so want him 'removed' so to speak. The others may not want another wolf in the pack full stop, so he stayed where he was, breathing hard after the fight, panting, but kept his eyes on as many as he could at a time.
He wanted to know where Mariah was, wanted to know if she'd been hurt, if she was alright. The white wolf... where is she? he asked the nearest, who directed him through the trees. Yamir licked his muzzle, trying to clean the blood off his nose, but it stained the grey in his fur. Soon enough, he found Mariah, but kept his distance, respectful of her space. Sitting down, he tilted his head on one side, watching her thoughtfully for a moment. You weren't in class, so I wondered... well. This is where you were, he said, looking up at her with large, amber eyes.

She pulled her lips back in a snarl, directed at a wolf coming up behind Yamir. Are you so dense as to not see I'm busy? Leave us! The wolf hurridly disappeared.
She went back to cleaning a bloodied area. I finish what I start, she finally said. Besides, I was hungry.

Yamir turned his head to look at the other wolf and stood up, so as to be on his guard, but the other moved away quickly, and Yamir lay down. Is that your blood, or someone else's? he asked, looking up at her questioningly from where his head rested between his paws. He could smell the scent of two different types, and hoped that too much of it wasn't hers.

She snorted, a sound her pack had picked up to show amusement. I've lost track. It's too hard to try and remember who cut who. Enough of it is mine, though to pay for a stupid act.

But you're not hurt badly? he said, hoping he was right. As for the Death Eaters... the bastards got what they deserved, and from wolves, no less, not even wizards who could return the curses sent at them. He licked his muzzle again in another effort to remove the blood that lingered there, but couldn't, and gave up.

She shrugged, not moving from her seat. You don't hear me complaining, now do you?
However, she had a good reason for staying still. Having walked even that small bit, she had begun to suspect she had a broken leg, or at least a sprain, in her right hind leg. Still, she continued to work at the blood stains, ignoring most all else.
